What data we collect
The data you leave with us
When you order through the site we collect your name, delivery address, telephone number and e-mail address — that is, the details without which an order cannot be fulfilled.
If you open an account, we also keep your order history and wishlist so that you can return to them later. Your password is stored encrypted and is not visible to us.
Prescription details and any report you send us are used solely to make your glasses and are not shared with anyone outside that process.
How we use the data
Why we need it
We process the data in order to fulfil an order, issue an invoice, arrange delivery and answer your questions. The legal basis is the performance of a contract and compliance with our legal obligations.
We share your data only with the courier service and with our accountants, to the extent necessary for delivery and for keeping our books.
We do not sell or pass data to third parties for marketing purposes. We send offers by e-mail only if you have explicitly signed up for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies
What your browser remembers
The site uses necessary cookies that make the basket, account sign-in and language choice work. Without them the site could not function properly.
We also use analytics cookies, so that we can see which pages are visited and where visitors pause. That data is looked at in aggregate, without being linked to a particular person.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. In that case some parts of the site, such as the basket, may not work as they should.
Your rights
Access, correction and deletion
You have the right to ask for access to the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to restrict or object to its processing.
Send your request to our e-mail address; we reply within the period laid down by the Personal Data Protection Act. Data relating to issued invoices is kept for as long as tax regulations require.
